Jan Matuszko is the acting director of the Environmental Fate and Effects Division (EFED) within the Office of Pesticides (OPP) where she oversees the development of ecological, drinking water, and endangered species assessments to evaluate potential risks posed by conventional pesticides to support registration and re-registration decisions. Most recently, Jan has been instrumental in OPP’s ESA initiatives. She also has extensive experience in EPA’s Clean Water Act programs where she led the development of regulations which reduced industrial pollutant discharges to our nation’s waters by over 1.4 billion pounds each year. Jan has a Bachelor Science in chemical engineering and an Master of Science in civil engineering (environmental) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
