Carlton Layne is currently the executive director of the Aquatics Ecosystem Restoration Foundation (AERF), where he has led educational outreach, industry relations and coordinated the Foundation’s research sponsorship since 2004. Prior to his position at AERF, Carlton worked as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he dedicated over 30 years to pesticide investigations, enforcement cases, and building collaboration with state agencies responsible for pesticide registration and regulations. Carlton remains active in regional Aquatic Plant Management Societies and enjoys engaging with graduate students who are working on aquatic research projects. He resides in Marietta, Georgia.
