Keith Jones currently is principle at Twin Mountain Partners, a Virginia-based agricultural consulting firm after a 14-year tenure as staff on the United States House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture.
During this time, in his roles as Professional Staff, Senior Professional Staff, and Subcommittee Staff Director to the Biotechnology, Horticulture, and Research Subcommittee, Keith provided Committee leadership and individual members with advice and counsel on a wide range of topics including agricultural research and promotion programs; biotechnology; food safety; hemp; specialty crop programs; pesticide regulation; agricultural research, education and extension, and organic agriculture.

Keith was responsible for numerous titles and subtitles of the last three farm bills, particularly issues related to the specialty crop sector. In addition, Keith has engaged in the drafting and passage of the following stand-alone bills: The Pesticide Registration Improvement Acts of 2008, 2012 and 2019; the Food Safety Modernization Act and most recently the Bioengineered Food Disclosure Act which established national uniformity for marketing claims disclosing the presence of genetically engineered ingredients in food.

Keith’s state level experience includes establishing the Texas Department of Agriculture’s organic certification program and serving as agriculture policy coordinator for the late Texas Governor Ann Richards.

Keith holds a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University and was raised on the Oklahoma family farm that his great-grandparents homesteaded nearly 120 years ago.
