Dr. Monique Perron is the senior science advisor for the USEPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs, where she reviews and evaluates toxicological studies, conducts human health risk assessments as part of multidisciplinary teams, and works on an array of projects to help integrate best available science into regulatory decisions. In recent years, many of these projects have focused on the development and application of new approach methodologies (NAMs) intended to reduce reliance on animal testing and provide opportunities to incorporate more human relevant information into pesticide assessments.

Monique obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and her masters and doctorate degrees from Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to joining the EPA, she held post-doctoral positions with Brown University and the National Research Council where she collaborated with EPA on research projects aimed at identifying and assessing the toxicity of a wide range of environmental contaminants.
