Dr. Rachel Cumberbatch (she/her/hers) is the Vice President for Regulatory and International Affairs at the Animal Health Institute (AHI). In this capacity, she leads the scientific team responsible for facilitating conversations between US regulators (EPA, FDA, and USDA) and the collective industry. Dr. Cumberbatch served as the staff lead for the 5th Animal Drug User Fee Action (ADUFA) negotiation.

Dr. Cumberbatch also represents industry on topics related to trade and international standards including working with international organizations, such as the Codex Alimentarius and World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH). She was appointed as an advisor to the USDA Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC) for Animals and Animal Products in 2021 where she provides technical advice to USDA and USTR to inform U.S. trade policy and trade negotiating objectives.

Dr. Cumberbatch’s experience includes clinical veterinary practice and serving as a Science Fellow in the US. Environmental Protection Agency and in the US Senate. Dr. Cumberbatch earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from Purdue University.

Rachel resides in the Washington, DC area. She enjoys public speaking, traveling, and hosting family and friends in the nation’s capital. She is the past president of the DC Veterinary Medical Association and takes pride in being a mentor to students, veterinarians, and scientists interested in public policy.
