Cindy Smith is the agriculture relations director for Gowan USA. She has worked in the industry in a variety of regulatory and commercial roles for about 28 years. In her current position, her primary responsibility is to play a leadership role across agricultural influencers to ensure that U.S. government policy supports U.S. agriculture and specifically U.S. growers. She works with regulatory authorities (U.S. EPA, California Department of Pesticide Regulation) and other influencers and decision-makers (Congress, USDA, U.S. Commodity Groups) to ensure regulatory policy is science-based, follows statutes governing pesticides and considers the impacts to agriculture. She is very engaged with CropLife America. She is the current Chair of CropLife America’s Strategic Oversight Council, the Chair of the State Affairs Committee and serves on several other CLA committees. She also has responsibility for trade issues for Gowan.
