Dana Vogel has been the permanent director of the Health Effects Division (HED) since August 2015. Vogel joined the Agency in 1998 and began her career in HED as an occupational and residential exposure and risk assessor. As a senior scientist in HED, she contributed to many high-profile scientific reviews, such as the NMC and OP Cumulative Risk Assessments. She also served at branch chief and deputy division director before becoming the director of HED. Dana possesses a vast knowledge and understanding of the risk assessment process and is recognized across the Agency as an expert in exposure and risk assessment techniques. Vogel holds a degree in chemistry from Villanova University.
