Montague (Monty) Dixon is the senior team leader for Syngenta Crop Protection’s North America Regulatory and Stewardship Operations Labelling group with his focus being on U.S. labelling operations. Monty has a long and diverse history in the agricultural industry since starting his career in 1990 with Ciba-Geigy and continuing through the formation of Novartis and Syngenta Crop Protection. This history includes working as a chemist for 10 years before moving into human health risk assessment in 2000. In 2006, he became a regulatory manager working with the Syngenta herbicide product portfolio and was the Herbicide Regulatory Team leader from 2017 through 2022.
In 2023, Monty became the senior team leader for the Syngenta Crop Protection Regulatory and Stewardship Operations Labelling group with a primary focus on U.S. labelling processes and driving the transition to digital labelling solutions. He is currently chairing the data model subgroup of the CLA Digital Task Force and is an active participant of the Pesticide Program Dialog Committee (PPDC) label reform working group . Monty’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in chemistry from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.
