U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp served as the first female senator elected from North Dakota from 2013 – 2019. During her six years in the U.S. Senate, Senator Heitkamp quickly became a proven leader who worked across the aisle to fight for North Dakotans. She was a key ally on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, where she helped write, negotiate, and pass the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills.
