Ruthann Anderson is the CEO of the California Association of Pest Control Advisers (CAPCA), which represents 4,000 licensed PCAs working across agriculture and turf and ornamental settings. Anderson has led the Association for seven years where she has prioritized expanding access to quality continuing education programs and networking opportunities for the women and men who are responsible for keeping California’s crops healthy. As the political landscape continues to shift in California, Anderson is maintaining a sharp focus on critical issues like sustainability, professional licensing, and redefining modern Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in partnership with the state.
Under her leadership, CAPCA has been proactive about educating legislators on both sides of the aisle, forging new partnerships, and spearheading collaborative projects like BeeWhere, which brings together beekeepers and applicators to protect pollinators through close communication, coordination, and real-time GIS mapping of hives. She has also positioned CAPCA as an industry leader in using world-class science and technology to develop best practices and policies for pesticide related issues across California.
