Representative Robert Dickey is serving his fifth term in the Georgia House of Representatives for House District 140, which covers Crawford County and parts of Bibb, Houston, Monroe, and Peach counties. A fourth-generation peach and timber grower, Rep. Dickey, along with his father, owns Dickey Farms, Inc., which was started by his great-grandfather in 1897. He is very active in the agriculture industry, at the state level serving as a current board member and past president of the Georgia Peach Council, past president, and current board member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau, and a member of the Georgia Commodity Commission for Peaches and the Georgia Agribusiness Council. At the national level, he has served as president and treasurer of the National Peach Council. Rep. Dickey believes in educating others in leadership who are interested in the agriculture industry and was a founding board member for the Georgia Agri-Leaders Forum, an agricultural leadership course that currently trains individuals in the agriculture and agri-business industry.

Previously, Rep. Dickey served on the governor’s Agricultural Advisory Board from 2002-2010 and served as Vice-Chairman on the Flint Energies Board of Directors prior to being elected, first being appointed in 1994. He was a founding member of the Crawford County Chamber of Commerce and served as a board member. He has been active in economic development for his local areas and served on the Crawford County Industrial Authority for the last twenty years. He was also a member of the Middle Ocmulgee Regional Water Planning Council.

Rep. Dickey is a member of the Board of Directors of the SunTrust Bank of Middle Georgia and on the board of the Gordon College Foundation. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia in 1976 and his Master of Business Administration from Georgia College. Rep. Dickey and his wife, Cynde, have been married for more than 40 years and have two adult children and one granddaughter. They are active members of Musella Baptist Church, where they both teach Sunday school. Mr. Dickey is a deacon and chair of the Finance Committee.
