EPA has finalized its framework for assessing the potential risk of antimicrobial and antifungal resistance (AMR/AFR) from the use of certain pesticides. The final framework established the Interagency Drug and Pesticide Resistance Efficacy Working Group (IDPREW), a platform in which pesticide-related AFR/AMR can be discussed within the federal government. However, the framework also acknowledges the substantial scientific uncertainties that still exists. This session will include a discussion about the new framework, existing knowledge gaps, and how potential solutions could fit into the larger pesticide registration process.
