Daniel Markowski, Ph.D. is a graduate of Memphis State University (B.S. Biology) and the University of Rhode Island (M.S. Zoology; Ph.D. Biological Sciences). He has directed and been involved in general pest and vector management programs throughout the country for over 25 years. In 2003, he began working with Vector Disease Control International (VDCI). Over the years, he has overseen all aspects of a vector management program, from the program’s inception to the elimination of risk. While managing all of VDCI’s ground-based vector surveillance and control programs, Dr. Markowski was on the front lines of the nation’s various mosquito-borne disease outbreaks from West Nile virus in multiple to states to Zika virus in the Caribbean and worked with local agencies to quell the outbreaks and respond to major natural disasters. In the spring of 2022, he became the Technical Advisor for the American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA). In this new capacity, he represents the Association’s members throughout the nation on all operational, technical, legislative and regulatory matters related to the vector surveillance and control industry.
