Stanley Culpepper is a native of North Carolina growing up on a semi-quincentennial (250 years) family farm. After graduating with all of his degrees from N.C. State, he joined The University of Georgia as an Extension Professor of weed science focused on developing and sharing sound science with family farms improving their sustainability.
Stanley has been an invited speaker at 346 functions across 27 states and several countries. In Georgia, he has presented timely information to growers at over 1,000 in-person functions; currently, he trains about 4,000 pesticide applicators each year. He has authored or co-authored 122 refereed journal articles, four book chapters, 439 professional meeting abstracts, 338 extension publications, and 256 newsletters/blogs. Additionally, Stanley has authored 17 successful Section 18 packages and critical use nomination packages as well as co-authoring 63 Section 24(c) or 2(ee) state herbicide labels bringing new weed management tools to Georgia growers.
Stanley has been honored to win over 30 awards including the EPA’s Montreal Protocol International Award for assisting in the preservation of the ozone layer. Stanley has also served three terms on the U.S. EPA Agricultural Science Committee Advisory Board and is a Past President of the Weed Science Society of America.
