Data Interpretation in Endocrine Disruption: Successes and Hurdles | A variety of data (e.g. ToxCast) and Study Guidelines are available for endocrine disruption evaluations within international regulatory frameworks for pesticides. However, some methodologies and preferences have shaped today's data generation expectations. This session will summarize both previous and current data generation practices.
Drones: Coming to a Field Near You! | Several industry groups, including CLA, are exploring the use of uncrewed aerial spray systems (UASS, also known as drones) and how they fit into the current pesticide regulatory framework. This session will discuss recent pesticide industry efforts in this space, the status of UASS use in the United States, and what UASS operations and applications entail.
ESA Strategy Implementation | EPA has finalized several ESA strategies for different categories of pesticides. This panel will discuss the EPA and state processes for these strategies, label changes and implementation, and the underlying data these decisions are based on.
PRIA: The Next Generation | PRIA 5 passed on December 29, 2022, and it is already halfway through its term before the legislation expires in 2027. Now is the time to start shaping the future of pesticide registration by identifying what’s working in PRIA 5 and where improvements could be made for PRIA 6. This is a key opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate, refine the process, and build on past successes to help ensure a stronger, more efficient regulatory framework.

PRIA Panel Luncheon | What Comes Next and How to Modernize the Future of Pesticide Policy?
Join us for this lunch time panel discussion that features prior, well-known EPA and USDA career and political staff, from both sides of the political spectrum, who will offer insight on how EPA’s pesticide program could be modernized and opportunities to foster process improvements with the next iteration of PRIA. Panelists will provide policy considerations for PRIA 6 and explain how such considerations could drive improvements in the pesticide registration process yet still gain the approval of the NGO community. Panelists will offer policy considerations for CLA and RISE members to contemplate as they begin the process of developing the framework for PRIA 6.

ESA Risk Assessment Refinement | In addition to other ESA efforts, stakeholders are examining the existing risk assessment process and identifying areas for refinement and use of the best available science. Three of these areas are the risk assessment for non-target arthropods, better incorporation of spray drift reduction technologies, and accounting for the proximity of the application site to aquatic habitat. Attend this session to learn more about efforts on these projects and the benefits of refining the risk assessment process.

How Emerging Technologies Support Sustainable Agriculture | New technology is constantly developed for use in pesticide applications. This session will explore how different emerging pesticide application technologies enable sustainable practices on farms.
Meet MyPest | To meet the requirement in PRIA 5, EPA released in January 2025 the new system, MyPest, to provide information on the status of pesticide submissions in real time. Come hear about the development of this new transparency tool, which featured multiple iterations of stakeholder feedback, and learn about the newest features of MyPest. Attend this session to also provide feedback on the system to those that were integral in the design process.
Navigating Regulatory Changes in Seed Treatment | Seed treatment is commonly used to control plant pests and pathogens, facilitating high-quality food production. EPA and several states are considering changes to well-established regulatory frameworks for treated seeds. This session will provide an overview of government actions that may impact seed treatment at the state and federal levels, in agencies, state legislatures, courts.

EPA Antimicrobial and Antifungal Resistance Framework from Policy to Practice | EPA has finalized its framework for assessing the potential risk of antimicrobial and antifungal resistance (AMR/AFR) from the use of certain pesticides. The final framework established the Interagency Drug and Pesticide Resistance Efficacy Working Group (IDPREW), a platform in which pesticide-related AFR/AMR can be discussed within the federal government. However, the framework also acknowledges the substantial scientific uncertainties that still exists. This session will include a discussion about the new framework, existing knowledge gaps, and how potential solutions could fit into the larger pesticide registration process.
Making Digital Labels Real | Join us for an engaging and informative session on the vital journey of label reform and digitization of pesticide label information! We will explore the unique perspectives of stakeholders at various stages of the pesticide label journey, from submission of a pesticide label for regulatory review, to application of a pesticide in the field. Our goal is to foster a shared understanding of the foundational concepts to include terminology, present the progress we have made so far, and actively engage with participants to discover how we can best advance this pivotal transformation towards digital labeling.
Registration Process Improvements | This session includes a dialogue about process adjustments to improve efficiency, including PR 98-10, PR 98-1, and multiple source Confidential Statements of Formula (CSFs). EPA will present the status of these updates and revision plans. Industry representatives will discuss challenges with the current version of 98-10/98-1 and explain their preferred approach for revisions.
Revised Process for Developing Draft PULAs | When the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registers a new pesticide or reevaluates a pesticide in registration review, the Agency has a responsibility under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) to ensure that the pesticide does not jeopardize the continued existence of any listed species or adversely modify their designated critical habitats. Through consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service (the Services), EPA identifies areas that may require geographically specific mitigations to protect listed species and/or critical habitats from the use of pesticides. The mitigations would be communicated in Bulletins Live! Two as specific locations requiring Pesticide Use Limitation Areas (PULAs). PULAs are specific to particular pesticides and may vary based on the properties of the pesticide. Before a PULA can be created it is first necessary to develop a core map. Core maps are species-specific and highlight areas that need to be conserved for a particular species. EPA has recently established a process for development of core maps and subsequent PULAs. This session will focus on the standardized core map development process as outlined by EPA and experiences from various parties that have used it in the development of core maps.
